Quick Guide to Attesting Academic Documents at Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) (2025)

Introduction

MYLegalTrans is an authorized representative at the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), offering third-party representation services for obtaining MoHE attestation of academic documents issued in Malaysia.

Required Documents

To attest academic certificates (Foundation, Diploma, Degree, Master, PhD), transcripts, or confirmations of student status from public or private institutions registered with the Ministry of Higher Education, kindly prepare the following documents:

1. Letter of Confirmation from University/College

  • Issued by the Registrar's Department or International Student Office.

  • Must clearly state the student's full name, passport number, nationality, course of study, mode of study, and duration of study.

  • Should not include any CGPA or grades.

  • Valid for only six months from the date of issuance.

2. Student Visa

  • Students must provide proof of a valid student visa covering the entire period from their initial enrollment to graduation.

3. Original Certificate and Transcript

  • Original copies of academic certificates and transcripts must be provided.

4. Thesis/Dissertation

  • All theses and dissertations must be notarized.

5. Copies for Attestation

  • A maximum of three copies per document can be submitted for attestation.

6. Approved Institutions

  • Attestation is available exclusively for documents issued by Private Higher Education Institutions registered and approved under Act 555 by the Ministry of Higher Education.

7. Processing Duration

  • Attestation of certificates and transcripts older than five years may require a processing period of at least seven working days.
